New Pictures

Hi Everyone-
It's Sophie. Sorry I haven't written in FOREVER. My mom has been super busy and we just haven't written. But here are some more recent pictures. I am officially three months, can you believe it? These three months have flown by. I am sitting up now (with a little help), rolling over, lifting my head, and "talking" up a storm. I am super noisy and keep my mom on her toes and of course I keep her doing laundry. My GiGi opened a store in Lititz, so mommy and I go there a few times a week to visit and help. I like working there because I am learning all about shopping and fashion. I can't wait for my very first trip to New York, maybe in Spring. My new favorite thing is my mighty mouse, my CC got it for me. I love to hold onto him and scream at him. It is my new hobby. I also learned how to pull hair and eat my hand. My teeth are coming in and sometimes it makes me cry. Other than that, I am still the happiest baby. OK, I'm going to bed, I have to work tomorrow.
Love,
Sophie :)
P.S- I hope you like my halloween costume, I was a pea pod like my Aunt CC calls me.

A Really Big Noreaster

Hi-

It's Sophie, we're on vacation. It's so windy here. My mom told e we're having a noreaster. On the way home from dinner tonight we stopped to see the waves crashing over the road. It was kinda cool and scary. We're havig alot of fun. I have been in six states now and I can't wait to see more. My mom told me I was partially named after North Carolina, I'm glad because like it here (thank God she doesn't like New Jersey!) We've been shopping, and more shopping and we walked on the beach the first day. It's too windy and sandy for me to walk down on the beach now. My mommy and my aunty were on the beach today flying kites while I was with GiGi and boy was I glad I didn't go! My throwing up is much better, people don have to wear rain coats to hold me anymore. Everyone is having fun holding me and playing with me (I think I may have heard them fighting over me, but I'm not tooting my own horn) Ok, I must go we are watching dancing wih the stars and waiting for the REALLY ig noreaster to come. It supposed to hit tonight or tomorrow. We'll wait and see. Okay, love you all.

Almost two months

Quite honestly, I don't know where the past two months have gone. Sophie is really coming into her own. She is sleeping pretty much through the night still and loving spending time with all of her family and friends. She is usually so content and so happy. Lately, she has been finally getting over her problems with formula and seems to be doing better with the isomil and rice flakes combo. Sophie looks alot liker her dad, its quite remarkable actually. She has been helping me alot around the house and with work. She has been going to all my appointments still. We leave for the Outer Banks on Saturday. I can't wait. Sophie will have been in 6 states by Saturday. Pretty Impressive, huh? It's funny because it seems that lately she is trying to mimick my faces when I make them at her. She smiles so big and then does what I do. I sometimes still can't believe that she is mine. We had our first small group on Tuesday and it was wonderful to see everybody again. Hope everyone is well. Sorry it has been forever since I have posted.

Sophie's Scare

So this weekend Miss Sophie was throwing up ALOT. and I called the peditrician. She said to go to the ER. So we rushed Sophie to the ER and after a few tests and an ultrasound, they discovered that she just had reflux. (who honestly knows, they have all said different things) I changed her formula and she seems to be doing better.

She weighed 8lbs 1 oz at the hospital on Saturday night. I cant believe how much she has grown. She is quite the traveler. She goes to all my settlements and appintments with me, she has only thrown up on one person's couch...oops. :)

Everyone says she is the happiest baby, and I have to agree. I couldn't have asked for a better, happier baby. She truly is magnificent.

Three Weeks...and sleeping through the night

So yes, you read correctly, Sophie is sleeping through the night and it has been wonderful. I was so scared that it wasn't normal and I called the peditrician and she just laughed and said as long as she is peeing and pooping enough, that I was just a VERY lucky mommy. Sophie is still producing huge amounts of laundry. I am happy to report that the reflux seems to be doing better. Last Saturday, Sophie and I went to Maryland to Aunt Carrie's church for the Peach festival. Sophie was so good in the car, didnt even make a peep and then we went to GG's house for the night while daddy was working. We had a blast and Sophie enjoyed all the attention. Sophie has been getting lots of wonderful packages in the mail. If you didn't get your thank you card, I am still working on some. ( I will get them out soon) She got a pair of boots this week that she loves (or maybe its that I love them) I still can't tell who she looks like. I am thinking that when she cries she looks like me, and her eyes look like her daddy's when she smiles. She makes the best faces. I wish I could record them. My absolute favorite part of the day is when we get ready for bed. She sits next to me in bed and we read books and I just stare at her. Reality is sinking in, but I still am on cloud nine. I cried the other night and Jon was like what's wrong? I told him that she was two weeks old and I feel like she is growing up too fast. He said she's just two weeks old, and I said I know, but before you know it, she'll be two months old and then two years old, and then in 2nd grade, and then driving. I just am savoring every moment with her. I can't believe its been three weeks. I remember getting in the car at the hospital to come home and thinking they are letting me have her, I didnt have to take a class or sign my life away or give them my cell phone number all I had to do was promise that we had utilities at our house and that we wouldnt return her or give her shaken baby syndrome ( Can you believe that they make you sign papers saying that? I cant imagine wha the people who live on the Main Line say when they ask them to sign these papers) Our friends from church have been making us meals, and I have to tell you it has been WONDERFUL. My mom made pot pie for us last week and I hid it in the fridge (sorry jon) Things are pretty much back to normal for us. Work is going well, I was hired by a real estate firm in philadelphia, so I am starting my real estate courses on Monday and i hope to be licensed by the time we go to the beach. Hope everyone is well. We love you.

We survived the first two weeks

So Miss Sophie is almost two weeks old, tomorrow at 7. She is really growing. From last Thursday until this Tuesday she gained 5 ounces, the doctor was thrilled. Her jaundice is gone. We've had lots of visitors. Sophie had her first bath last Sunday and loved it and every bath since then she has hated. We spent last Saturday with my mom, dad and sister. It was really nice to get out and spend time with my family and my mom's friends. Sophie loved meeting everyone and of course everyone showered her with gifts. We've been busy with work, I had 8 hours of actual maternity leave. I was in labor and people were calling me about work, but it's goes with territory. Sophie is a big help, she has already been to a real estate seminar and is learning the ropes. I could look at her forever. After she eats, when she is awake, I just stare at her. I can't believe God gave her to me to care for. I really can't. Today I was looking at her sonogram pictures on the fridge and I just couldn't believe that she was once that little. I remember the first time I saw her little heart beat on the sonogram machine, I honestly didn't expect to see it and every time I look at her I am just so overwhelmed. Being a mommy is truly the greatest joy I have ever had. I just cherish my mom and cant imagine my life without her and I hope to be the same to Sophie. These past few weeks have really brought me alot closer to my family. My sister has been a godsend throughout everything. I can't imagine my life without her either. If it wasn't for her I would still be in labor. Jon and I are adjusting well to being parents, everyone made it sound so hard, but really she is the easiest baby. Her first week sleeping was horrible, but this week she is down to a routine. YAY! Jon wakes up with her alot and feeds her and rocks her. I can tell she is going to be a daddy's girl. I am really blessed to have a husband who really wants to be a part of helping with her. He actually does more at night then I do. :) Tonight Sophie and I took a walk with Winston and he actually pulled us around the neighborhood, so from now on I think it will be just me and Sophie or just me and Winston. A little too much with both of them. Sophie is having more visits this weekend, I'm excited to see everyone. For those of you that have kids, do they produce as much laundry as Sophie? Oh my gosh this kid makes laundry, I guess it's payback for all the laundry I made for my mom. She was spitting up alot, but new formula and different nipples and things seem to be going better. I am trying a breastfeeding support group on Thursday to see if we can get my boobs working. Hopefully we do. Oh yeah, and a funny story, Jon and I took Sophie on an estimate last Sunday after church and they had a HUGE obama sign in the window. I said to Jon that we should have had her vote for McCain shirt on, Jon said, no for these types of things we are getting her an Obama shirt. It was too cute. Thanks to everyone for your love and support. We all really appreciate it and are blessed to have you in our lives.

Love you all,

Ashley
