So Miss Sophie is almost two weeks old, tomorrow at 7. She is really growing. From last Thursday until this Tuesday she gained 5 ounces, the doctor was thrilled. Her jaundice is gone. We've had lots of visitors. Sophie had her first bath last Sunday and loved it and every bath since then she has hated. We spent last Saturday with my mom, dad and sister. It was really nice to get out and spend time with my family and my mom's friends. Sophie loved meeting everyone and of course everyone showered her with gifts. We've been busy with work, I had 8 hours of actual maternity leave. I was in labor and people were calling me about work, but it's goes with territory. Sophie is a big help, she has already been to a real estate seminar and is learning the ropes. I could look at her forever. After she eats, when she is awake, I just stare at her. I can't believe God gave her to me to care for. I really can't. Today I was looking at her sonogram pictures on the fridge and I just couldn't believe that she was once that little. I remember the first time I saw her little heart beat on the sonogram machine, I honestly didn't expect to see it and every time I look at her I am just so overwhelmed. Being a mommy is truly the greatest joy I have ever had. I just cherish my mom and cant imagine my life without her and I hope to be the same to Sophie. These past few weeks have really brought me alot closer to my family. My sister has been a godsend throughout everything. I can't imagine my life without her either. If it wasn't for her I would still be in labor. Jon and I are adjusting well to being parents, everyone made it sound so hard, but really she is the easiest baby. Her first week sleeping was horrible, but this week she is down to a routine. YAY! Jon wakes up with her alot and feeds her and rocks her. I can tell she is going to be a daddy's girl. I am really blessed to have a husband who really wants to be a part of helping with her. He actually does more at night then I do. :) Tonight Sophie and I took a walk with Winston and he actually pulled us around the neighborhood, so from now on I think it will be just me and Sophie or just me and Winston. A little too much with both of them. Sophie is having more visits this weekend, I'm excited to see everyone. For those of you that have kids, do they produce as much laundry as Sophie? Oh my gosh this kid makes laundry, I guess it's payback for all the laundry I made for my mom. She was spitting up alot, but new formula and different nipples and things seem to be going better. I am trying a breastfeeding support group on Thursday to see if we can get my boobs working. Hopefully we do. Oh yeah, and a funny story, Jon and I took Sophie on an estimate last Sunday after church and they had a HUGE obama sign in the window. I said to Jon that we should have had her vote for McCain shirt on, Jon said, no for these types of things we are getting her an Obama shirt. It was too cute. Thanks to everyone for your love and support. We all really appreciate it and are blessed to have you in our lives.
Love you all,
Ashley
